Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 17, 2026

Last Updated: March 17, 2026

1. Introduction

Dumpster Hill, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with ListMucho mobile application ("App").

Key Principle: ListMucho operates a "privacy-first" application. Your lists and shopping data stay on your device by default. You do not need an account to use the App. When you choose to share a list with others via the sharing function, it is temporarily hosted on our secure server (Google Firestore) to enable real-time synchronization across devices. Once you finish and save your shared list, it is automatically and immediately removed from our server. If you fail to finish and save a list it is automatically removed from our server after a period of 7 days from creation. The App's core functionality does not collect or track personal information. We use Google AdMob to display ads; Google may collect limited data such as device identifiers and ad interactions for ad delivery and measurement, as detailed in Section 6.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

The App's core functionality (e.g., list creation and storage) operates primarily on your device without collecting or transmitting personal data. The App itself does NOT collect:
• Personal identifying information (name, email, phone number)
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data
• Location data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs (except as noted in Section 6 for AdMob, and anonymous session identifiers used for abuse prevention as described in Section 4)
• Information about your shopping habits or spending patterns (unless you voluntarily share a list)
• Purchase history or personal preferences
• Crash reports or error logs

Note: The App uses Google AdMob for contextual advertising, which may collect certain data, such as device identifiers, ad interaction data, and IP addresses, as described in Section 6 (Third-Party Advertising).

3. Local Data Storage

The App stores the following information exclusively on your device:
• Your grocery lists and shopping history
• Product names and organization preferences
• Budget settings and spending totals
• App configuration and display preferences
• Currency and tax rate preferences

How Local Data is Stored:
• ListMucho uses your device's standard storage mechanisms
• Data is not encrypted by default; we recommend securing your device with strong passwords or biometrics to protect your data
• Data remains under your complete control at all times
• Data is retained until you delete it or uninstall the App

4. Server-Based Data (Shared Lists Only)

When You Choose to Share a List:

When you create a shared list and generate a shareable link, that list is temporarily stored on Google Firestore (our secure cloud backend) to allow real-time synchronization with other users accessing the same list. This data includes:
• List items (product names, quantities, prices)
• Checked/unchecked status
• Budget information and tax settings
• A temporary unique identifier tied to the shared link

Data Deletion & Automatic Cleanup:
• Shared lists are deleted from our server immediately when you tap finish on a list.
• You can manually delete a shared list at any time through the App
• Shared lists are not retained for analytics, marketing, or any other purpose
• Once deleted, shared list data is permanently removed from our servers

No Personal Association:
• Shared lists are not tied to a user account or personal identifier
• Lists are identified only by temporary, unguessable identifiers
• Even if someone has the shared link, we cannot associate it with any individual

Anonymous Identifiers for Abuse Prevention:
• To prevent abuse of our sharing features, the App uses a temporary anonymous session identifier (generated by Google Firebase) to enforce daily usage limits
• This identifier contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you
• Rate limit records associated with this identifier are automatically deleted within 48 hours
• This identifier is never shared with third parties or used for any purpose other than abuse prevention

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any user-generated data to third parties.

Your Data Remains Private:
• Your local device data (lists, history, preferences) is never transmitted to our servers
• Shared lists are used only for the purpose of real-time synchronization
• No data is shared with analytics companies
• No data about your shopping habits is sold to third parties
• The App's core functionality does not use data for advertising purposes; however, Google AdMob may collect limited data for ad delivery as described in Section 6
• We do not share data with retailers, brands, or other commercial entities

Legal Disclosure:
Because we do not store personal identifying information and shared lists are automatically deleted, we have minimal data to disclose in response to legal requests. We may be required to disclose limited technical information (e.g., IP addresses logged automatically by our cloud infrastructure provider, Google) as required by law, but we do not retain shopping lists or personal data.

6. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)

The ListMucho App integrates Google AdMob, a third-party service provided by Google, to display advertisements. ListMucho requests contextual ads from Google AdMob, which means ads are based on the app's content rather than tracking your personal browsing history. However, Google may use your device settings or account preferences to personalize ads beyond our request.

Google AdMob may collect limited data, including but not limited to:
• Device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID on Android or IDFA on iOS, if permitted by your device settings)
• IP addresses (used for coarse location targeting and fraud prevention)
• Ad interaction data (e.g., clicks or views, used in an aggregated manner to measure ad performance)

This data is used to serve and measure advertisements and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. We do not control or have access to the data collected by Google AdMob.

Consent and Control: For users in regions like the EU, we use Google's User Messaging Platform to request consent for AdMob's data collection, as required by laws like GDPR. You may opt out of personalized ads via your device settings (e.g., disabling personalized ads on Android or limiting ad tracking on iOS) or by visiting Google's ad settings page. On iOS, we do not request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) consent because we do not track users across apps or websites.

Regional Compliance: We comply with applicable privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA, by minimizing data collection and relying on Google AdMob's compliance mechanisms for advertising.

7. Data Security

Your Device Data Security:
• Use device lock screens, PINs, or biometric authentication
• Keep your device's operating system updated
• Use reputable security software if desired

Our Server Security:
• Shared lists are hosted on Google Firestore, which uses industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest
• Shared lists are temporarily stored and automatically deleted after use
• We do not retain user-generated data on our servers beyond what is necessary for active shared lists
• No user accounts or passwords are required, eliminating account compromise risks

8. User Rights and Control

Since most user-generated data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
• Access: View all your lists through the App
• Modification: Edit or delete any lists through the App
• Deletion: Uninstall the App to permanently delete all local data
• Export: Share lists as you choose
• Data Deletion from Server: Delete any shared list at any time; it will be removed from our server immediately

9. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children. Since all processing occurs primarily on the device and shared lists are not tied to personal identifiers, no special parental consent mechanisms are required. Parents should supervise their children's device usage according to their own family policies.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make changes:
• We will update the "Last Updated" date
• We will provide notice through the App or on our website
• Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
